Hi A. Travis, great work, I enjoy your red string/performance very much. Sorry, I have not be so active at this network, you have me add as a contact, I didn't know how to responde until now! I am a little phobic about IT stuff, but not as much as Sven Birkketts( have you read anything by him? Great writer, I truly recommend,The Musa and Technology, great literary critic, based in Boston). I have an idea for a performance piece" Queen Ambrosia Comes To Town" I must find a venue for it. Plesae, email me at tancha_us@yahoo.com. VIVAVIDA!
Wow, your images blew me away. I love the range and breadth of your work. The sloppy footed organic sprays of vibrant paint against the stark clean line of red connection...
There's something very compelling about the triangulation of person, gorgeous patterned landscape with the textured linearity of the red line that ties it all together. I love how the red line joins disparate landscapes from frame to frame.
In my work I've storied the red line as being a sort of bleeding slash or slice across an otherwise intact landscape. I never thought of it as simultaneously like the cord of life. Maybe its simultaneously a deep connection and our first experience of separation as we experience the pain of cutting the cord. Beautiful..... thanks so much for sharing.
All the best
Lisa
Hey! glad you found me online, great to see your site- and I love the earthartist site- look forward to having time to delve into that- a few folks on there I don't know about. .. I hope your projects are going well and I will see you around town sometime no doubt, cheers, Sharon
