- Taking my existence as a catalyst to investigate personal moments, I become the other in art, physically and conceptually, to perpetrate the politics of myself and the object that you are.
Spanning over a decade, my work in Fine Art falls into many mediums with a focus on performance, video and painting. I graduated in 2007 from the Cardiff School of Art & Design with First Class Honours in Time-based practice.
Often with contemporary existential overtones, my work plays with notions of the 'other'; using gaze, light and visual metaphors, juxtaposed with modern iconography: to playfully and sometimes subversively surprise the viewer.
Referring to methods of advertising, iconic faces and text, in my live work I like to recreate familiar experiences but exposing the uncanny, absurd reality we often miss. My performances are highly physical and can also be emotionally challenging for both mysellf and the viewer.
My video work is predominently live-work that becomes an artefact in itself. I often intersperse narrative and use creative editing in order to present the work differently. I also create abstract narrartives, performances for the camera and auto-biographical videos.
Using a mixture of found materials, acrylic and oil paint and photography, my paintings are subtle, impressionistic, beautiful even. They all contain hidden secrets, expressive symbols or little jokes.
I am currently resided near London and continue to make work alongside managing a video production company and am currently accepting painting commissions.

So, according to my DD my DN is D on Sunday! Now that does sound modern! In normal-speak: I'm due on Sunday, though apparently only 5% of women are 'on time', which makes me think they should come up with a different way of measuring it accordingly, but still.. the clock ticks along...

ALPHABET IS NOW CLOSED - Thank you!
Thank you very much for all the interest and submissions I have received over the last month for OXHOUSE. The ideas and numbers of responses were amazing and overwhelming - unfortunately I did have to let some people down as some letters proved extremely popular and there are only 26!

OXHOUSE - First letters...
Greeting from OXHOUSE!
I type this blog to you with numb, swollen pregnant hands whilst urging the pregnancy count-down timer forward a few days or weeks..
The pregnancy itself is going well, apart from the carpal tunnel syndrome, which is an appropriate ailment to get for this project, I suppose! The baby is a constant kicking embodiment of how I feel about the digital native.
I cannot see it, I do not know its gender, yet I feed it, feel its presence and it grows in attachment to me everyda… Continue
