As the Light Becomes Longer
"Snow's Embrace"
Last winter, I lived in a rather remote area of Salt Spring Island Sometimes the snow and ice insulated me from the rest of the world for more than a week at a time. Despite this isolation, the experience of being surrounded by a thick blanket of snow in peaceful solitude was blissful. With snow embracing me, I felt neither alone nor lonely.
