Hi Bill,
I hope this finds you well and as infectiously enthusiastic about the role of the arts in the community as I remember you. This is a voice from the past. We met at the National Assembly of Local Arts Agencies convention when I was the Ex Dir of the Cultural Council of Lancaster County, PA (88-95). Beth Cornell introduced us. Subsequently we had a variety of contact regarding the Arts in Ed program we were doing in Lancaster. I'm still referring people to your work in communities. Would love to catch up with you when you have a moment. Write me at cynthialeehomes@hotmail.com.

What else do you want us to know?
I am an author, musician and I run of the Center for the Study of Art & Community. At CSA&C we work to re-integrate the arts into all aspects of community life. Prior to starting the Center I directed, California’s Arts-in-Corrections Program, that state’s Summer School for the Arts and the Walker Art Center’s Education Department. My books Art In Other Places and Making Exact Change are seminal works in the field of arts-based community development. My most recently published book Art and Upheaval: Artists at work on the Worlds Frontlines chronicles artists working in communities facing extreme social, political and envirnmental crises. Between Grace and Fear: The Role of the Arts in a Time of Change is due out in early 09.

I struggle to make love the principal motivating force in my life---I try to use it as my lens for seeing and as a measuring stick for my actions. I am committed to helping make human creativity, our most powerful force for difference making, a part of everyday life for all people.
