I`d love to meet you and your mother in Bucharest in June! It would be great ! Most chances are that I`m going to be here , in Bucharest.
Let`s keep in contact!
oh yes - stories ....how did I get to socially engaged art.
- started as an undergrad activist seed by a liberal arts education - realized that I was good at cocktail parties but wanted to effect change more
- did an MBA
- helped get Doctors without borders going in Canada; worked for the Feds on a National Youth Service Initiative; Worked for an organisation that worked with Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal Youth in Wilderness Settings
- did a BFA at ECIAD in Vancouver - found that I had two distinct practices - one that fed my inner world and another that that engaged the outer world--> decided to see if they could integrate
- Became a yoga teacher
- Went to Burningman - the broke my head open and I started working with student artists on public engagement projects
- Founded Collaborative Interactive with same students
- Began writing on Systems Based Art, Community Engagement and Technology from a Zen perspective (anybody that practices Zen will have a big smile after reading that statement)
- Did an MFA and focussed developing collaborative and engagement pedagogy
- produced a Thesis Exhibition - Samsara Unlimited: Towards and Ecology of Compassion. It was a systems based artwork that engaged students and diverse publics to create the actual artwork ie the byproducts of the system's functioning. The real product was the network of relationships based on compassion and creativity.

At present in resting/re-engergizing mode. Focusing on re-integrating with the voice of my bioregion and my family.
I am a practicing interdisciplinary artist (create digital images & text, artist's books, and audience-participatory installations) and teach art for social change at UW Tacoma.
