I've always been fascinated by how Nature's patterns are revealed when we view her from space, from afar. So today we will explore what happens when we step back and expand our view of one of our own images.
Choose a painting you like or maybe even one you don't care for. You can lay your paintings on the floor and run your hand over them to choose. Once you have the painting, take a moment to record a few words. What comes to mind when you look at this image?
Now lay pages around the perimete…

It's great fun to head out doors and find a shadow that attracts your attention. Maybe its the shadowy undulations of a tree branch that catches your eye or the delicate petals of a flower on a thin stalk. Maybe the shadow of your hand on the page suddenly jumps to view as you focus on a painting.

Hi everyone,
We're now beginning the second half of our Natural Painting course. Congratulations if you have tried each activity.

From now on we will be painting outside. We will close our eyes to paint, use our hands, follow what attracts and feel our way through, thus opening to what comes up naturally. We will als…

Hi everyone.
My goal for these first 4 activities has been to help you get a feel for painting in a natural way by following what you are attracted to, building trust in your hands, relying less on your eyes and broadening your use of colour.
Today I invite you to play. Attached is a PDF
Child.pdf that I hope will entice your creative child to come…

By limiting the colours in your palette you can stretch into new territory...
Start this activity by limiting your palette to 3 colours. You can decide on which 3 any way you like. Paint an image by closing your eyes to choose the paint. Apply the paint blindly with both hands, (you can lay some paper towel or a cloth over the unavailable colours while you work with your chosen three).
Then choose 3 new colours to work with and paint blindly using your hands.
Finally use any remaining colours…

Welcome Back:
I invite you to open and read the attached PDF. It contains a short written piece on the importance of using both hands when we create. There are a couple of activities to try embedded within the document as well.

*Begin by reading the introductory pages- they provide instructions re materials to have handy, and ideas regarding setting up and developing a practice.…
