What would you say to someone living a hundred years from now?
a fleeting thought
a deep dark secret
a word of warning
a sense of joy
something happy
something sad
something trivial
something mad
song or poem
story or film
contract in blood or
postcard from the past?
For my residency I invite you to contribute to an online artwork called
VTC2.0 (messages for the future): a virtual time capsule into which you can place something for the future. The capsule will take 100 contributions before being sealed for 100 years.
The capsule will be sealed through a ceremony that is shared across the Internet. For the ceremony I will have my lips sealed with stitches and observe an hour of silence, live online. You are invited to join me via the Web, to breath with me while my mouth is sutured shut, and to share silence with me.
The time capsule will be open from 17th August to 22nd September. The sealing ceremony will take place on Tuesday 22nd September at 9.18pm GMT – the moment of the Autumnal Equinox.

Since publishing this post I've been in dialogue with artist Caffyn Kelley about aspects of VTC2.0. Read extracts from our e-conversation
